Privacy Policy

On this page

This Privacy Policy explains what information Cuewake handles, where it is stored, and when it may be shared with third-party services.

Your cues stay on your Mac

The content you create in Cuewake is stored locally on your Mac.

This includes things such as your notes, checklists, links, file references, and other cue information.

Cuewake does not require an account to create or manage your cues, and your cue content is not uploaded to Cuewake servers as part of normal app use.

License information

Cuewake uses Blink to issue and validate software licenses.

When you activate, check, or deactivate a Cuewake license, the app may communicate with Blink to verify the license and the activation associated with your Mac.

Cuewake stores the information needed to maintain your activation securely in the macOS Keychain.

Payment and purchase information submitted during checkout is handled by Blink. Cuewake does not receive or store your full payment card information.

Software updates

Cuewake uses Sparkle to provide software updates.

The app may connect to Cuewake’s update service to check whether a newer version is available and, depending on your update settings, download an update.

Software updates are verified before installation.

Files

When you attach or reference a file in Cuewake, Cuewake uses the permissions provided by macOS to access that file.

Cuewake does not upload the contents of your files to Cuewake servers as part of normal app use.

Removing a cue does not delete the original file from your Mac.

App and website context

Cuewake can associate a cue with the place where you were working so it can help you return to the right context later.

Depending on the type of cue and application, this may include information needed to identify an app, window, page, website, or file.

This information is used to provide Cuewake’s return-to-context functionality. Cuewake does not use this information to build advertising profiles.

Permissions

Some Cuewake features may require macOS permissions.

Cuewake only uses permissions for the functionality they enable. You can review or change permissions for Cuewake through macOS System Settings.

Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working correctly.

Analytics and advertising

Cuewake does not sell your personal information.

Cuewake does not use the content of your cues for advertising.

If analytics or diagnostic services are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what is collected and why before those practices are represented here as part of Cuewake.

Third-party services

Cuewake relies on a limited number of third-party services to provide specific functionality, including:

Blink for purchases and software licensing.

Sparkle for the application’s software update mechanism.

Those services may process information according to their own privacy policies when you interact with their services.

Data retention and deletion

Because your Cuewake content is stored locally, you remain in control of that local data.

You can delete cues from within Cuewake. You can also remove Cuewake and its local application data from your Mac.

Certain purchase or licensing records may be retained by Blink independently of the local Cuewake app where required to provide purchases, licensing, fraud prevention, accounting, or other applicable services.

Children’s privacy

Cuewake is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may change as Cuewake evolves.

If Cuewake’s privacy practices materially change, this page will be updated to reflect those changes.
